Who We Work With
We at Pro Deck Supply work with homeowners, DIYers, and contractors on providing materials for deck projects.
We want to make sure you have all the details on exactly what you need to build your deck, and what each part you ordered will be used for.
PDS does not provide any on-site services or labor, all construction will be up to you or a contractor.
Deck Plans and Designs
Whether you're a DIYer or a contractor, all permitting has to be done by the homeowner or builder. Designing a deck is usually determined by an overall vision that the homeowner has, and more specific building details determined by the builder.
If you're building your own deck, you will want to be educated enough to effectively plan, design, measure, and pull a permit for your deck.
We'll be glad to help you refine your project so that you can make the most of your time, space, and materials that we provide to you.
Education
When building a deck, homeowners can either choose to build a deck themselves, or hire a contractor.
If you are a DIYer that feels confident in building or refurbishing your deck yourself, there are a few ways to educate yourself in deck building.
We can arrange a paid consultation appointment where we go over each aspect of your project so that you know the name of every deck component, why it is important, and how to install it.
You can also learn a great deal from the internet or our Deck Construction guide, so that you can get the most out of our conversations.
What To Bring
If you'd like to discuss your project with us, there are a few things that help have an effective discussion in planning your project.
The first thing to have is a drawing with measurements of your existing deck frame, or if you don't have a deck yet, the measurements of your house with door and window locations.
The second thing is photos of the deck area and house. This helps identify features that may dictate the location or design of your deck, and also helps get you started on your style choices.
Our Showroom
Our showroom is located in Northeast Minneapolis, and includes full size decking and railing displays, built-out examples of stairs, underdecking systems, and decking layouts, and an array of lighting options. These displays are especially helpful if it's your first time building a deck from the ground up, and want to understand more about deck construction.
We have nearly 150 decking colors, and over 40 styles of railing, but don't let that overwhelm you. Part of our discussion is discovering what's most important to you, and what style choices will make your deck an outdoor space that you and your family will enjoy.
Installation Guide Directory
As you educate yourself either before or after you meet with us, our installation guides are helpful for installing specific product families. These PDFs and videos will explain some of the building process, framing requirements, and other information relevant in installing products to have a well-built and fully warrantied project.
