Ultralox Panels

Ultralox is sold as a universal panel (which includes hardware and one bottom snap) and a top rail cover, which are ordered separately. 

     Support legs are used to keep the panel from bending under downward pressure, and are not included with panels.

     If configuring a level panel with a drink rail board on top, use a "bottom snap" for the top rail cover, and drink rail brackets every 24" to secure the board to the panel. 

     Universal stair panels will also need a top rail cover/snap, ordered separately. Do NOT use a bottom snap as your stair top rail, we recommend the Victorian profile for easy graspability. Support legs are not required or compatible with stair panels.

Posts for Aluminum Panels

     An Ultralox post assembly includes a post with an attached base, and will also need a cap, skirt, and screws to secure it to the deck frame. 

     3" posts are used when the top rail is butted into the side of the post, 2" crossover posts are used to allow the top rail to run continuously over the top of the post, typically in the middle of a straight run of railing.

     Post skirts (or base covers) are available in vinyl or metal, and metal post caps are available in a standard slim profile or a wider decorative style. 

     5" wood-thread lag screws can be used for wood framing, or concrete anchors can be used when securing to a concrete substrate or structure.

Extra Parts for Ultralox Railing

Use our rail clip jig to set your bottom railing clip to a 3" post at the correct height, then once your panel is inserted between the post, use the notches on the bottom of the jig to center your top rail before securing the top clip.

     If you're cutting a railing panel in half and using both halves as shorter railing sections, you'll need another mounting bracket kit to secure the second panel. 

     Cut collars can be used where the top or bottom rails meet the post, to cover imperfect cuts or add a decorative accent. 

Ultralox Graspable ADA Handrail

When Ultralox railing is used on a stairway and a graspable handrail is required, you can either configure a continuous top snap or use handrail rods and parts. If a stair is longer than 8 feet, a 2" crossover post will be needed so the top snap is continuous. If the top snap is not run over-the-post, a graspable handrail rod should be added.
