Composite Fascia versus PVC Fascia

Composite Fascia versus PVC Fascia

When covering your rim boards or riser spaces, a thinner fascia board of the same color or collection is usually used, to match or coordinate with the decking.

That being said, there is more flexibility when selecting a fascia, since it's on a different "plane" than the decking, and isn't being laid down right next to the deck boards. You can also choose your fascia and riser color to help bring together your home and deck color schemes.

We recommend using a PVC fascia, even when installing a composite deck board, because it's easier to work with and tends to perform better. The screws used with PVC fascia are smaller and don't require pre-drilling, which is especially handy when you're working on the side of your deck and can't easily hold the board in place.

We custom-cut Azek PVC sheet material into sizes efficient for risers, fascia, post wraps, and other applications, with minimal cutting or scrap. It's available in both white and paintable Paintpro, making it possible to match nearly any deck's color scheme.
